Welcome to Dr. An’s Group at Sichuan University. In our research, the core focus is to advance research in composite deployable structures and smart and soft mechanical metamaterials, with emphasis on their applications in aerospace and mechanical engineering. We use applied mechanics methods to discover and solve scientific problems, from engineering practices and for engineering practices.

- Feb 1st, 2023. Dr. Ning An, along with Professor Xiaofei Ma of CAST504 and Professor Jinxiong Zhou of XJTU, proposed a Special Issue entitled “Advanced Polymer Composites in Aerospace Applications” for Polymers. More details could be found here.
- Dec 9th, 2022. Dr. Ning An received his first Certificate from Coursera for completing a course on Deep Learning with Keras, which is delivered by IBM. [Certificate][web]
- July, 2022. Dr. Ning An has been admitted as an IAAM Young Scientist Medal in recognition for his contribution to “Finite Element Analysis and Mesoscale modelling” and delivered a lecture in the Advanced Materials Lecture Series. [Certification]
